With a waterproof rating of 5000 mm, the Inverness 540 jacket offers a high level of waterproofing. We measure a fabric’s resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the tissue is. A component with a waterproof rating of 5000 mm therefore resists the pressure from 5000 mm of water: this corresponds to a heavy 3-hour long storm (30 cm of water).

Designed especially for hunters trekking through woodland with their dogs, but also ideal for small game hunters operating in difficult areas, this technical jacket includes side ventilation zips under the arms to ensure better ventilation. When walking and actively hunting, even with just a breathable t-shirt on under your jacket, it’s always nice to feel a breeze and to wick away your perspiration as best as possible.

This jacket uses a breathable fabric, and here’s why

The breathability of a fabric is measured in RET (Resistance to evaporative heat transfer). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more water vapour generated by an active body can escape through the fabric and the higher the fabric’s breathability. For this model, the component’s complex RET is equal to 12 m/².Pa/W. In other terms, this makes our Inverness 540 hunting jacket a highly breathable garment, very useful when walking many miles behind your dogs as they track down scents

In addition to the breathability of the fabric used, Solognac develops technical solutions (zips, air vents, etc.) that improve the overall ventilation of this jacket. You will note that the inner mesh used in this jacket has also been designed for improved perspiration wicking. This provides additional comfort, which can be an advantage when walking for many miles during a hunting trip.

A functional and practical product, with many pockets

This jacket has excellent storage capacity: 2 hand pockets with waterproof zips, 2 lower hands pockets (with slots for 5 cartridges in each pocket and a waterproof zip), 1 waterproof chest pocket (with a zip, protected by a 3 cm flap), and 1 inner pocket secured by a zip fastener. To finish, there is an easily accessible game pocket at the back (with a zip on both sides and on top). It can also be fully opened for easy cleaning.

A few details about the hood

Our designers and designers have created a removable hood for this hunting jacket. It is a “storm” hood with excellent coverage and a visor to keep your face protected against the rain as best as possible. You can adjust the height and depth of the hood using an elastic drawcord and toggles so that it can follow all your head movements. The extra little details on this jacket

It includes 2 slots on the chest, designed for attaching up to 2 remote controls for your dogs’ training collars. The neck and hood use a relatively soft fabric for greater comfort, also designed to avoid any chafing around the neck. Finally, our engineers wanted to add a second slider to the central zip fastener on the front (protected by a flap with poppers) to allow ventilation via the top and/or the bottom of the jacket too.
